CAFB's Food Stamp Outreach and Access Program is funded in part through a partnership with the Network for a Healthy California (Network), the CA Department of Social Services and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Services.
Match funding for the food stamp outreach program is administered by the Network as a cost reimbursement for non-federal, non-federally matched expenses. For every $1000 in non-federal money spent and billed by a partner organization on allowable food stamp outreach activities, $333 is reimbursed to the partnering organization. This reimbursed amount is called "federal share." To be eligible for reimbursement, partnering organizations must submit an approved budget and scope of work, be able to certify that no funds re-generated from a federal source or are used to match other federal funds, and assure that activities funded through this program do not supplant existing efforts or funding. For a description of this funding reimbursement formula, please download this one page factsheet.
